Job Summary

The Network Administrator will maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment to ensure smooth network operations. Responsibilities •Perform a wide range of network administration duties including installations, debugging, maintenance, upgrades, and general support for HP/Aruba, Dell, and Aerohive network equipment. •Evaluate, test, and deploy all software and hardware upgrades to the networking infrastructure. •Microsoft Active Directory - manage user accounts, security group permissions, passwords, and work with group policy. •Office 365 – manage email accounts and distribution groups as well as support smooth operation of related products, including OneDrive. •Assist in the configuration and deployment of core and peripheral network devices, which will require continuous learning of new devices. •Proactive monitoring of network devices, services, and servers using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and SLA’s. •Collect and review network utilization data for capacity and planning purposes. •Develop and implement a plan and/or budget for the replacement of all network equipment. •Assist in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans. •Collaborate with vendors for procurement and maintenance of all IT infrastructures. •Manage and fix network and Internet connectivity throughout the organization. •Work closely with fellow team members to provide end-user support and issue resolution. •Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging tools and technologies. •Research, evaluate and recommend technologies to support business requirements. •Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all processes and procedures. •Collaborate with and support the work of other staff engaged in similar functions. •Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings. •Utilize project based initiatives to report on, plan for and make use of resources to further the goals of the Office of Information Technology. •Coordinate with the rest of the OIT team to meet the team objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

•Demonstrable experience in a network administrator role •Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching •Excellent knowledge of standard methodologies around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure •Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired •Ability to set up and configure server hardware •Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies •Excellent organization, prioritization and multitasking skills •Microsoft, HP/Aruba, Aerohive, VMWare, Dell •Degree in Computer Science or related field •Requires 24x7 availability for support and after hour maintenance. •Ability to work under stress and time constraints •Involves lifting and movement of equipment during setup and installation
