Description: This collection contains correspondence from the Office of the Industrial Manager between 1914 and 1923. Most of the correspondence is between John Eagan (Chairman of the Board of Trustees, 1902-1924) and David W. Densmore (Industrial Manager, 1911-1923), and is dated between 1915 and 1916. The bulk of the correspondence deals with the construction and upkeep of campus buildings and day-to-day farm decisions. Buildings covered in these letters include Blackstone Hall, Mount Berry Chapel, Lemley Hall, and the Recitation Hall (Green). Upkeep topics which are covered within the writings include telephone service on Berry grounds, fire escapes and fire ladders, septic tanks, electrical and light service/consumption on Berry grounds. Farm correspondence covers a wide range of material, but is particularly focused on plantings and crops (specifically cotton and alfalfa), creating a poultry yard, and cows.
