Biographical Information: Mr. Warr graduated from Berry College in 1937 and in addition to his duties as Registrar, also served as Director of Admissions, and Alumni Secretary from 1941-46.

Description: This collection contains reports generated by the Office of the Registrar and the correspondence of John C. Warr, who was Registrar from 1937-1946. A large portion of the correspondence and reports within the collection document changes in institutional activity and shifts in attendance during World War II.

The first part of the collection is general and subject correspondence. Some of the correspondence kept in this collection originated in the President's Office and was forwarded to the Registrar via Presidents G. Leland Green and William J. Baird. Some of the subjects represented in the correspondence include the United States Army, accreditation, faculty matters, the Georgia Education Association, the Hammond Essay Prize, speakers, and correspondence to and from the Veterans Administration.

The second part of this collection is faculty meeting minutes and a list, “Faculty Prayer Meeting” for the year 1945-46. Faculty meeting minutes are included for September 11, 1944, January 8, 1945, March 12, 1945, and May 14, 1945.

The third part of this collection consists of reports generated from, or sent to, the Registrar's Office. These reports include the Registrar's Report, October 12, 1944 ; Enrollment Report Fall Semester 1944; Mount Berry Church Treasurer's Report, 1943-44; Report of Freshmen in Georgia Colleges, May 14, 1946; Martha Berry School for Girls Fall Semester 1944; Mount Berry School for Boys, September 1945; and Chapel Assignments 1943-45.

Also included are attendance records for the Boys High School, the Martha Berry School for Girls, and Berry College. In addition are the 1944-45 monthly hospital reports for the Martha Berry School for Girls, and two undated hospital reports, Boys High School Health Report and Meacham Girls Health Report.

This collection also contains general rules and regulations for dormitory students for summer term 1944, general blackout procedures for the schools, and a list of Berry faculty members serving on the Civilian Morale and Home Defense committees.

The last portion of the collection is teacher schedules for the Fall 1944 term.
