Memorial Library serves the study and research needs of Berry College students, faculty and staff. Community guests are also welcome to enjoy the library facility and use selected library resources and services upon request.
Memorial Library provides access to an excellent collection of resources in all formats and a well-qualified staff whose first concern is the student. Personalized reference assistance, interlibrary loan at no charge and library instruction available upon request are among the many services offered to all Berry undergraduate and graduate students.
The spacious, well-furnished facility, centrally located on campus, is open 104 hours a week, including evenings and weekends. More than 400 individual study seats, as well as comfortable group study areas and a coffee shop, are available. All library computer workstations offer access to the online catalog, the Internet, e-mail and selected applications. Library-wide wireless access as well as laptop docking stations expand user options for complete connectivity with notebook computers and other portable electronic devices.
Print and microform holdings total more than 275,442 volumes. Holdings for ebooks is 37,120 and audio/visual materials is 7,509. The library subscribes to more than 2,200 journals. As an official select Government Depository, the library's collection also includes more than 173,073 government documents. The Berry College Archives collections include the Martha Berry papers and administrative records of the institution, as well as college publications.
Additionally, the library provides on-campus and remote access to more than 179 discipline-based research databases, including those in GALILEO (GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online), as well as additional subscriptions to numerous other academic information resources. Selected databases include full-text access to more than 34,000 journals and newspapers. Electronic information resources for the campus are coordinated by the library; most are easily accessible from the library's home page, whether the student resides on or off-campus.
