DELIVERY AND DISPATCH TIMES

SCHEDULED DELIVERIES:

Incoming mail from the U.S. Postal Service is delivered to Berry College Monday through Saturday at 8:00 a.m.  The mail is usually sorted and in the boxes by 11:00 a.m. during the week, and by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Campus mail is delivered all during the day as it is received, beginning immediately after we finish delivering the U.S. mail.  Any campus mail received after 4:00  p.m. will be delivered on the following business day; no campus mail is delivered on Saturday.

UPS, Federal Express, Airborne, and DHL deliver Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

PACKAGES:

You will be notified that you have received a pacakge by means of a color-coded card.  You must present your package card and your student ID in order to pick up your package, no exceptions.  A pink card represents priority mail, media mail, parcel post, or a large campus mail item.  A preprinted orange Postal Service form represents an item for which the sender has purchased insurance, tracking service, or a signature is required.   A yellow card represents UPS, Federal Express, Airborne, DHL and deliveries from other private couriers.  If you receive a yellow package card, you will also be required to present your Berry student or faculty/staff identification card

OUTGOING MAIL:

We have differnt handling procedures and cut-off times depending of the type of mail and level of service requested.  If on occassion, unusual circumstances prevent your from meeting these deadlines, please contact us.  If possible, we will try to work out a mutually acceptable arrangement.

First-class metered mail must be received at the Post Office by 3:00 p.m.  This is necessary to allow us sufficient time to process the mail and deliver it to the Rome Post Office before the 4:30 p.m. deadline. 

Express mail may be received between 9:00 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.

Bulk and nonprofit mailings must be received early enough to allow us time to process them for delivery to the Rome Post Office before the 3:30 p.m. deadline.

Stamped first class mail must be received in the inside collection box by 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Stamped mail placed in the outside collection box is picked up Monday through Friday at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m., and on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.  Any mail weighing over 13 ounces must be given to a clerk instead of deposited in a collection box.

Items to be shpped by UPS must be received by 3:30 p.m.
