Clark Track Challenge
Circling the Valhalla playing field will be the eight-lane Clark Track. The synthetic running surface, adjacent jumping pits and steeplechase area, and future throws facility will create new opportunities for students in intercollegiate athletics by providing the first-class home necessary to support Berry’s full participation in track and field as a member of NCAA Division III and the new Southern Athletic Association.
Step one, the track itself, will cost $600,000 to complete. Two alumni members of the Berry College Board of Trustees – Bert Clark (82C), right, and Roger Lusby (79C) – have committed gifts of $200,000 and $100,000, respectively, to create a matching fund for the project. This fund will match subsequent gifts dollar for dollar, effectively double the impact of all future contributions.
