Courtney Hansill (Class of 2013)

Before attending Berry, I had never had a “real” job, so I was pretty nervous about
starting my job on campus. When I first
met with my work supervisor on campus, we worked together, one-on-one, to
figure out a perfect fit for me. I am
so thankful for the amazing work experience I had my freshman year and the
patience and kindness my work supervisors expressed to me. I am currently working two jobs, both
revolving around my major, Marketing, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the
impressive job descriptions I am able to put on my resume. I currently hold the positions of Organizational
Chart Manager for the Student Work Office and Advertising Coordinator
Apprentice for the Career Center. One
lesson I’ve learned from my work experience is to use my resources and not be
afraid to ask for help. In fact, after
discussing my desire to work in advertising, my boss from the Student Work
Office showed me what I needed to do to get a job in that field. I am very gracious to Berry for allowing me
to “experience it firsthand” in the Student Work Experience Program and I am
very excited to use my acquired skills in the working world!
