Berry College will showcase a recital by guest pianist Hyunjung Rachel
Chung at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Ford Auditorium. This event is free and open
to the public.
Chung was born in South Korea and has been actively
performing as a recitalist, concerto soloist, and chamber musician in Italy,
France, Thailand, Canada, Korea, and throughout the U.S. Chung is known for
playing music that is written by living composers and her unique program
exhibits her strong commitment to promote these new composers.
She is an
associate professor of music at Spelman College in Atlanta and has her
bachelor's degree from Seoul National University, her Master of Music degree
and Professional Study Diploma from the Mannes College of Music, and her Doctor
of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from Rutgers - the State University
of New Jersey.
