Welcome to the President's Office

Stephen R. Briggs became the eighth president in Berry College history on July 1, 2006. He joins the Berry family after six years as provost and vice president for academic affairs at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). Prior to his service there, he was a faculty member and administrator at Rollins College in Florida and The University of Tulsa.

A scholar of personality traits, Dr. Briggs earned his Ph.D. in personality psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. Earlier, he received his bachelor’s degree with honors from Wake Forest University.

Dr. Briggs is married to the former Brenda Morgan. The couple has three daughters, Morgan, Meredith and Madeline.
