Community-Based Learning Symposium
will highlight community-based pedagogies and the benefits of linking
classroom instruction to community experience. Sessions will present
theoretical approaches to community-based learning and research,
showcase current faculty initiatives, introduce Berry’s community
partner organizations, and discuss community issues and problems. The
day-long event is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2009. Jan Shoemaker,
director of Louisiana State University’s Center for Community
Engagement, Leadership and Learning, will be the featured presenter.

Nation Service-Learning Clearinghouse (NSLC) is a program of Learn and
Serve America and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
NSLC provides timely information and relevant resources to support
service-learning programs, practitioners, and researchers.
National Society of Experiential Learning - National
Society for Experiential Education (NSEE) is a nonprofit membership
association of educators, businesses, and community leaders that serves
as a national resource center for the development and improvement of
experiential education programs nationwide.
