Community Engagement Project Funding
offers faculty members on continuing appointments the opportunity to
apply for up to $500 to support community-based projects linked to
specific academic courses.
Community-Based Learning Symposium
will highlight community-based pedagogies and the benefits of linking
classroom instruction to community experience. Sessions will present
theoretical approaches to community-based learning and research,
showcase current faculty initiatives, introduce Berry’s community
partner organizations, and discuss community issues and problems. The
day-long event is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2009. Jan Shoemaker,
director of Louisiana State University’s Center for Community
Engagement, Leadership and Learning, will be the featured presenter.
