Cultural Events Criteria
- Expose students to significant events from the areas of Arts,
Sciences and Humanities that faculty and the administration believe best
represent the literary, philosophical, and artistic traditions for which Berry
as an institution is responsible
- Provide students an opportunity to make contact with the issues
and personalities of contemporary America and other cultures
- Promote moral and ethical reasoning
- Enable students to participate as fully as possible in the
intellectual and spiritual tradition of Berry College
Examples of event types which fall outside the compass of Cultural Events Credit
criteria include::
- sporting or recreational events
- religious worship services or worship meetings of any kind
- career or personal counseling, sales presentations
- meetings of student government or other student organizations
- regularly scheduled class attendance
- presentation of student course work
- family life including child care
- foreign or domestic travel, or dining
- volunteering in charitable or civic activities
- volunteering as a subject in scientific or medical experiments
