11:07 a.m.: opening meditation on being receptive (visualization of smells and breezes coming through an open window.
Item 1-Reviews of Programming Schedule for Spring
*Focus on upcoming Panels on Faith
-Suggested new time: 4:30 p.m. to avoid scheduling conflicts
-RILAC student support desireable.
-Vice presidents will be approached to encourage staff to attend.
-Emphasis stressed on the importance of keeping each speaker succinct and to the point. Participants will be urged to come early.
*Panel Discussion on Denomination Perspectives on Homosexuality
-Feb. 12th
-4 Clergy scheduled
-Discussed as an important event for the campus
Item 2-Discussion of Furniture for soon to be dedicated Interfaith Center
-Ellen reviewed the ‘wish list’
-Dale requested money and was given $5,000,
-$2,500 currently available. This is enough for basic needs. Remaining amount to come in June.
-about $1,000.00 had been spent at the time of the meeting.
Item 3-Discussion of Barnwell as preferred Interfaith Center Locale
-Conclusion: continue to furnish current Interfaith Center.
Item 4-Preparations for Interfaith Center Dedication Ceremony
-Dale to ask Cathy to request Alumni Center for 40 chairs
-discussed plans for setting up the space.
-Dale plans to get a podium
-Recommended that the set up crew meet 30 minutes early.
-Dale recommends to Steve a strong e-mail to IFC committee encouraging them to attend the dedication.
