Current Volunteer Opportunities

Berry Half Marathon – Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Berry’s Half Marathon, 10K and 5K race day is quickly approaching. The races will take place on Saturday, March 7th and volunteers are needed to help at the following times with the following activities:

Friday, March 6
5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Ford Dining Hall
Help with Pre-race pasta dinner - serve food, etc.

Saturday, March 7
5:30 - 8:30 am - Help with parking, registration, set up
7:00 - 10:00 am - Course monitors, finish line assistance, awards, fun run
11:00 am - 2:00 pm - Clean up/break down

Tutors Needed

Volunteer tutors are needed to help a 1st grader with Reading and a 5th grader with Science. The most convenient times would be Tuesday or Thursday after 3:30pm and tutoring would take place right here on Berry’s campus. Contact Richard Merritt at rsmaruba@comcast.net

Johnson Elementary is in need of a few volunteers to tutor 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Possible tutoring times include 3pm - 6pm and during the day, though times can be worked into volunteers’ schedules. Contact Cathy Powell at (706) 236 1830

A Spanish tutor is needed for a 10th grader at Armuchee High School. Times can vary and the tutoring would take place on Berry’s campus. Contact Debbie at (706) 766 8363 or at dmccullough@floyd.org

A 7th grader at Rome Middle School is in need of a tutor in Math and other various subjects. Available tutoring times include any day but Wednesday and anytime after 4:30pm. Tutoring will take place at the local library. Contact Jane Tucker at (706) 291 2286
