Habitat for Humanity

The Rome and Floyd County Habitat for Humanity provides many volunteer opportunities throughout the year. In addition to working on construction projects, volunteers are always welcome in the HomeMart where donated building and remodeling materials are sold to help Habitat for Humanity building projects. Berry also has a chapter of Habitat for Humanity which works every Saturday on projects.  Habitat for Humanity

William S. Davies Homeless Shelter

The William S. Davies Homeless Shelter helps provide a temporary "home-like" environment for the homeless of Floyd County. In addition to these services, the shelter also provides counseling, mentoring, assistance, and educational opportunities. Volunteers have William S. Davies Homeless Shelteropportunities to help from making simple donations to helping with basic administrative tasks.

Action Ministries-Rome

Action Ministries is an organization whose mission is to aid and empower the homeless and others suffering from hunger in Floyd Count. Rome Action Ministries has a number of opportunities for volunteers. Rome Action Ministries needs volunteers to help organize and stock various food pantries, as well as assist with periodic clean-up projects. Action Ministries Rome

Harbor HouseHarbor House

The Harbor House is dedicated to assisting families undergoing investigations related to child abuse. The agency has various volunteer opportunities in administrative duties and other special projects. They also host an annual adult spelling bee to raise money.

Volunteers may serve a number of needs with the Hospitality House in its mission to address the issue of domestic violence. The Hospitality House provides volunteer opportunities on the areas of childcare, housekeeping, administrative tasks, and work in their thrift store.

Sexual Assault Center of NWGA

The Sexual Assault Center of NWGA works to aid and support victims of any kind of sexual violence. Volunteers may act as advocates for these victims, accompany to hospitals or court functions, assist with the 24-hour Crisis Hotline, and help educate the community about sexual assault.
