Mount Berry Church

Mount Berry Church is the campus congregation of Berry College. Our congregational mission is Explore, Experience, and Express the Love of Christ.”
Explore the Love of Christ. As a college congregation, Mount Berry Church emphasizes thoughtful reflection on the Christian faith. Our sermons are intended to challenge us, and we encourage religious seeking. You don’t have to have all the answers to be a part of MBC. We believe Jesus’ promise: “seek and you will find.” And we believe Jesus came to take away our sins – not our mind.
Experience the Love of Christ We experience the love of Christ through the love we express to one another, and through our weekly worship. Our worship reflects the contemporary, informal worship of the college generation, but we also incorporate music and traditions that have honored and glorified God throughout the centuries. We are a diverse fellowship, finding wisdom and value in many different Christian denominations. Above all, we strive to be sincere and earnest in our worship. The substance of our worship is more important than our style.
Express the Love of Christ. “Faith without works is dead.” Mount Berry Church attempts to serve Jesus by serving others. We express our love not only in our worship, but also in the many ministry opportunities we provide. Some of our ministries include Make A Difference Day, Operation Christmas Child, Thanksgiving and Christmas outreach, missions support, and more. And beyond these programs, we are challenged to put our faith into practice every day through sacrificial love to all we meet.
Dr. Dale McConkey, Berry’s Chaplain, serves as the pastor of Mount Berry Church. If you have any questions, please contact him at dmcconkey@berry.edu or (706)236-2217.
This semester, Mount Berry Church will meet on Sundays at 6:00 PM. We are hoping that this is an ideal time to maximize participation by the entire campus community. Come join us!
