SGA Finances and Budget
The activities of the Student Government Association are funded through a grant each semester from the College, through a disbursement of Vending Machine Profits from the Student Activities office, and through its own projects and services that raise funds.
The Fall 2000 and Spring 2001 SGA budgets are available for your review on-line. These budgets only outline the transactions of the General Account, which provides the funding for SGA's committees and most of the Association's functions. Separate accounts exist for each major project and service of SGA; since these accounts exist only to clear payments for the service provided and pay for the expenses related to providing the service, separate budgets have not been created for these accounts under this, or previous, SGA administrations.
The Budget & Finance Committee assists the Treasurer in drafting the budget to propose the SGA Body each semester and reviews all requests for financial assistance from student clubs and organizations, as well as from individual students. The Budget & Finance Committee also reviews all requests for Campus Improvement funds and assists the Treasurer with the MicroFridge project and the Change Machine service.
If you are interested in a more in-depth look at the finances of SGA, our records are open to your inspection as long as an appointment is made with the Treasurer in advance. To do so, or for more information, please contact the SGA office.
