Welcome to the SGA Website!
I am incredibly excited about the many unique opportunities that the 2006-2007 school year holds. Just as the college itself is growing and developing, meeting the challenges of the 21st century while maintaining our century-old heritage, our SGA is also continuing to evolve and progress. One of the main purposes of SGA is to be an advocate for the student body. As the direct link between the body and the administration, SGA presents a means for students to voice their concerns, and deal with issues that affect them. One important way that SGA represents the student body is through the appointment of number of students to such significant committees as the Academic Council and the Judicial Board.
The other main purpose of SGA is to offer services to the student body and the Berry community at-large. From savings through Bookswap, convenience in microfridges, Food for Finals, or Bellhops to move you in, these are just a few of the many ways that the SGA is here to serve you. Beyond our campus boundaries, we also reach out to the community with such events as blood drives and Relay-for-Life teams, keeping in step with the Berry commitment to educating the heart and the hands.
Student government simply can not be effective without the active participation and input from every student here at Berry, whether living off-campus, on main-campus or up at the WinShape campus. This SGA exist for each one of you, and it is our goal to provide answers and solutions to your problems.
We meet on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. in Evans Auditorium, and because all Berry students are automatically members of SGA, we would love for you to come to the meetings. If you want to truly make a difference here at Berry, then I strongly encourage you to get involved with SGA this year. Enjoy the rest of the website!
Yours truly,
Ryan J. Simmons
