MICROFRIDGE RENTAL CONTRACT: 2001-2002
1. The undersigned Student renter is responsible for paying the $30 refundable deposit, and a rental fee of $50 each semester. Deposits will be returned after the unit’s return has been processed. Deposits may not be applied to the rental cost of the unit, but may be ‘rolled over’ for the next year if rental is again desired.
2. The Student is responsible for obtaining the unit from and returning the unit to the designated place at one of the announced times. A pick-up and delivery service may be available for an extra fee; ask for details.
3. The Student is responsible for notifying the SGA of any changes in the location of the unit and of any event (i.e. withdrawal from Berry, roommate change, etc.) that will affect who is responsible for the unit.
4. The Student is responsible for the unit’s general upkeep, including cleaning and defrosting it as needed.
5. The Student is responsible for returning the unit clean, defrosted, and dry with all included parts intact.
6. The unit may only be used for the storage and preparation of food and non-alcoholic beverages. The storage of drugs and medicines, unless prescribed by a medical doctor, is prohibited. In accordance with the stipulations of the Viking Code, the storage of alcoholic beverages in the unit is strictly prohibited.
7. The Student Government Association reserves the right to inspect the rented unit at any time to ensure adherence to the above stated provisions.
8. Failure by the Student to comply with the above stated terms may result in the loss of the right to rent a unit and/or in fees* being charged to the Student. If the amount of such fees is less than the deposit, it shall be subtracted from the deposit, otherwise the Student will be billed. If payment is not received, the Student’s Berry account will be charged the outstanding amount due and an additional processing fee. *
9. For roommates to officially share in these rental responsibilities (including paying rental fees and possible charges), each roommate must complete a contract, indicating his/her roommate’s name. If separate contracts are not signed, the SGA is unable to hold the roommate responsible for the unit or related costs.
10. The Student Government Association is responsible for renting a clean, working unit with all parts present and to service or replace in a timely fashion a defective unit free of charge. Failure to do so by the SGA will result in significant credits* applied toward the rental cost of the unit.
