Berry College In His Name Gospel Choir

In His Name Gospel Choir
"In His Name" was founded in spring 2005 as the result of a "God-given vision" by alumna Jennifer Williams, then a student at Berry. The choir's name is derived from Colossians 3:16-17. It consists of approximately 12 members and is now under the leadership of sophomore Sarah Armstrong.
In His Name travels to spread their ministry to touch as many lives as possible. In the fall of the 2005 school year, they opened up a concert for American Idol finalist George Huff. In the 2007 school year, In His Name, a charter member of the National Association for Collegiate Gospel Choirs, went to the national conference where their contestant in the pageant, Berry Alumni Ms. Tametria Conner, brought home the crown and became the first ever Miss NACGC.
As described in College Gospel Magazine, "The National Association of Collegiate Gospel Choirs is a professional organization that works to unify college gospel choirs, musicians and music scholars from campuses across the United States and Canada. The mission of NACGC is to preserve the legacy of gospel choirs as a vital component of the college experience, provide a voice of excellent musicianship, promote inter-collegiate fellowship and perpetuate quality leadership that sustains the vision of college gospel music."
