(Bike Racks at Morton-Lemley Hall) A bicycle worth riding is worth keeping. You can protect your bike from theft and discourage a thief with proper precautions. 1. All bicycles brought to campus by students must be registered. This free registration includes a decal and safety information. The decal acts as a deterrent to discourage a potential thief and aids in returning the bike if lost or stolen. Students should go to the Parking Services Office at the Ladd Center to register their bicycles. 2. Always lock your bike. Many bikes are not locked when they are stolen. 3. Use a high security lock. www.kryptonitelock.com 4. Engrave and record an identifying number on your bicycle. Engravers are
loaned out by campus police free of charge. Safety Guidelines - Riding your bikes
StorageBicycles are not permitted in college buildings except when stored in residence hall rooms. Bicycles may not be stored in corridors, stairwells, or archways. Any bicycle stored in a manner that creates a safety hazard will be impounded by campus police. The owner may reclaim impounded bicycles by paying a charge of five dollars ($5) and completing a form identifying the bicycle. All impounded bicycles will be held for one month after the semester during which they were picked up. Unclaimed bicycles will be given to a local charity.
