Land Resources Office

Built in 1973, the Rollins Beef Research Center serves as the headquarters for the beef cattle operations on campus. There are an office complex and animal-science classroom on the premises. It also has a modern research barn with the capability of feeding 83 animals individually and selectively testing for feed-conversion efficiency. The center also has the capabilities of conducting research in animal nutrition, physiology, and other areas of animal research. A heated sales arena at one end of the barn seats over 400 people. In addition to cattle, the center has tested sheep, water buffalo, and other animals.

The center was named in honor of O. Wayne Rollins, prominent Atlanta businessman and successful cattle breeder, who served on Berry's board of trustees from 1972 to 1983, when he was named trustee emeritus. Mr. and Mrs. Rollins were among the most generous of Berry donors in the 1990s.

The duplex that was once located on "Birds of a Feather Lane" on the south campus adjacent to the "Flock-Together House" was moved to the Rollins Center property in 1991. It is now a faculty and staff residence.
