Cherokee Lodge was the second building at the Foundation School, built by Superintendent Grady Hamrick and students about 1920. It was originally a dining room and kitchen (main floor) and classrooms (upstairs). Cherokee has served many purposes through the years - faculty and staff housing, an infirmary, a student center, and the student publications office. In 1975 the interior was completely renovated to make it a single-family house for faculty/staff.
