Meacham Hall

Meacham Hall was built in 1921, a gift of D. B. Meacham of Cincinnati in memory of his son, Robert, who died soon after returning from World War I. The construction of this dormitory was by students. A large apartment at its north end was the home of the first headmaster (then called superintendent) H. G. Hamrick and his family. After Friendship and Pilgrim Halls were completed, Meacham became an "honors" cottage that housed boys who worked at the dairy. Completely renovated in 1986 by Atlanta entrepreneur and philanthropist Truett Cathy, it is used as guest housing.
