Spring Graduation 2008
U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss addressed more than 300 graduates at spring commencement. Joining him for the May 10 ceremony were Truett Cathy and Dr. Sam Spector, both of whom received honorary doctorates.

Seminar: Bowen H. "Buzz" McCoy - Finding Your Voice
Bowen H. "Buzz" McCoy, a nationally recognized writer and teacher of business ethics, presented “Finding Your Voice” to an audience of Berry students and other guess April 2 in the science auditorium.

Cage Center Construction Cam
For the past year, the Berry College family has been watching the Cage Center being built in real-time via our construction cam. These shots, along with a few provided by R.J. Griffin & Co. have been compiled into a short movie that documents the rise of the Cage from the ground to completion.

December 2007 Graduation Commencement
More than 130 graduates got an early Christmas present Dec. 15 as the Berry community gathered to celebrate fall commencement. Trustee Sunny Park was the featured speaker for the afternoon ceremony, which was held in Ford Gymnasium. Also addressing the crowd was graduating senior Emily Pierce, who delivered the student address.

Installation of the Cage Center Cupola and Weathervane
The Steven J. Cage Athletic and Recreation Center reached new heights June 20 when construction workers capped the $32.5 million facility with a 37-foot, 2-inch cupola and weathervane. The cupola has been named for the late Pyungnim Park, mother of Sunny K. Park, a member of the Berry College Board of Trustees who recently pledged $250,000 in support of the project.

Installation of the Cage Center Stone Sign
Progress on the Steven J. Cage Athletic and Recreation Center continued recently with the addition of the 26,500-pound stone bearing the “Cage Center” name to the facade of the building. Occupation of the 131,000-square-foot facility is scheduled for early 2008.

Spring Graduation 2007
Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue was the keynote speaker May 5 as Berry welcomed hundreds of visitors to the Memorial Library lawn for spring commencement. A total of 294 students completed requirements for either bachelor’s or master’s degrees this spring.

The Inauguration of Stephen R. Briggs
Berry College celebrated the inauguration of Dr. Stephen R. Briggs as its eighth president on Friday, April 13. Students, faculty, staff and alumni joined Georgia Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and delegates from an array of different colleges and universities for this tradition-rich event.
