Costa Rica

Students wishing to study for a semester, year or summer attend International Studies Abroad's program at the  Universidad Latina - San Pedro near San Jose. Courses of Spanish language and university courses taught in Spanish are included in the curriculum.

Students may also consider  Veritas University, also in San Jose, for semester, year, or summer programs. Health care courses in English and Medical Spanish is also offered.

Another opportunity for Berry students in Costa Rica is the  Berry College/Fundacion Progreso Guanacaste Summer Program in Costa Rica, a unique course which includes working as an English-language tutor in primary schools in the rural Guanacaste region and a 300-level Spanish class on Costa Rican culture. Independent-minded students that have an intermediate or higher level of Spanish proficiency and enjoy working with children are highly encouraged to consider this program. Students of Tropical Biology may now earn Berry credit with the  Organization for Tropical Studies. Students earn 4 credits while engaging in hands-on study of plant and animal species in tropical ecosystems.
