Frequently Asked Questions

Program Information

How long does it take to complete the program?

The majority of students attend on a part-time basis typically completing the program in five semesters or 21-months if taking two courses per semester without a break.  Students must complete the program within six years, so students may take fewer than two courses per semester and may take a semester off without reapplying.

Can I still apply if I do not have an undergraduate degree in business?

Yes, over 60% of our current students hold undergraduate degrees in areas such as anthropology, sociology,  government, animal science, engineering, psychology, fashion merchandising, communications, and exercise science.

How many students are in the program?

Since 1973, the average number of students enrolled is 32.  We are a small program, which we believe is one of our greatest strengths.  Our class sizes are small and typically average 15 students.  The small nature of the program allows students to get to know their professors, engage in every class discussion, and build a professional network of professors, students, and alumni.

Am I required to attend during the summer?

Yes, students are required to attend at least one summer.  Typically, elective courses, study abroad, and/or internships occur during the summer semester.

Can I attend the program full-time?

Students choosing to study full-time must begin the program in the summer by enrolling part-time in two courses.  Students will then enroll in 12-credit hours each for the fall and spring semesters.  Classes are only offered in the evening from 6:00p – 8:45p in the fall and spring and 6:00p – 9:30p in the summer.  Students will take courses each night in the fall and spring, Monday – Thursday and two nights per week in the summer.  Students choosing to complete the program on a full-time basis most likely will not be able to work outside of taking courses.

Admission Requirements

Graduate school applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.  An applicant is considered for admission after all required credentials are received by the college admissions office.  Any prior college work not submitted at the time of application for admission will not be accepted for graduate credit in the future.  Failure to report such work may be grounds for dismissal
