Education Lecturer
Ginger Lindsey is a Lecturer in the Department of Teacher Education who currently teaches Art Education and Arts for Elementary Education. Over the last two decades, Ginger worked as a Teaching Artist and Senior Consultant leading and designing arts integration, arts enrichment, and literacy programs for numerous organizations including the Arts Collab, Better Basics, the Birmingham Museum of Art, A.G. Gaston Boys and Girls Club, and Create Birmingham in partnership with the Kennedy Center.
At Lipscomb University, Ginger’s research investigated arts integration (visual art vs. drama) to teach literacy standards and improve ELL student vocabulary. In her teaching practice, Ginger is committed to harnessing the arts and aesthetics to enhance long-term memory and improve student retention. Storytelling and arts integration are her passions whether it be in novel writing, acting, design, filmmaking, or dance.
