Professor of Music (piano)

Kris Carlisle is a professional pianist and educator. A native of California, he has performed throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
Specializing in contemporary music, his latest album The Silence Between released in 2020, has already garnered the Global Music Award "Silver Medal". The album explores ‘programmatic music’ by contemporary American composers. The success of the album has led to glowing reviews and radio play across the US, Canada, and Europe. Previous albums; The American Evolution: Piano Sonatas and The American Evolution: Piano Preludes have also received critical acclaim. Both receiving special commendations from The American Prize Competition including a Special Judge's Citation for "Championing Piano Music by American Composers". These and other albums are part of a larger project that explores the way contemporary composers employ traditional genres in composition.

Dr. Carlisle has been a guest artist at colleges and universities around the country. He has been an adjudicator for organizations throughout the world and presented lectures and recitals at both national and international conferences.
