Short Bio

Jennifer Hoyt is assistant professor of Latin American history at Berry College in Rome, GA. Her area of expertise is 20th Century Latin America, with specific emphasis on the Cold War, militarism, urbanism, and environmentalism.

Dr. Hoyt teaches courses on colonial and modern Latin America, world history, environmental history, modern Mexico, and Latin American studies. Her current research examines urban reforms initiated in Buenos Aires during the last military dictatorship (1976-1983). Portions of this study have appeared in the edited volume Beyond the Eagle’s Shadow: New Histories of Latin America’s Cold War and the journal Urban History. A book is in progress.
