Using Berry Financial Aid

Students can use their Berry financial aid toward study abroad! This includes tuition remission. Remember, it is your responsibility to confirm with Financial Aid which of your awards may be applied to study abroad and how much aid you can take with you.

For approved programs, students pay tuition to Berry College. Berry will then pay tuition to the institution abroad. In the rare case that the institution abroad has a higher tuition than Berry, students are responsible for paying the difference.

Want to see what a budget might look like for your program of interest? Ask International Experiences for an example!

Students pay the following additional fees:

  • program application fees and deposits
  • postage for any applications or mailings
  • program housing and meals
  • insurance (if program does not include insurance, students are required to purchase a policy from iNextInsurance through the IE Office).
  • airfare and other transportation
  • books, material fees, and personal expenses
  • passport, visa, residence card, or other immigration fees
  • any other required program fees

Students participating in ISEP semester exchange programs pay Berry tuition and Berry standard room and unlimited meal plan fees, among others. Berry will cover the application fee for exchanges only.

Students may be eligible to apply the HOPE scholarship to summer study abroad, if taking at least 6 hours and enrolled in a Georgia college or university. There is little Berry institutional aid available in the summer.
