Elementary and Middle School Honor Choir Festival

Registration will open Monday, January 25, 2026.

Berry College will host the sixth annual Elementary and Middle School Honor Choir Festival for students in grades 5-8. Students from across the South will enjoy a day on the beautiful Berry College campus in choral rehearsals and workshops with 5th and 6th Grade Unchanged Voice Honor Choir Guest Clinician, Dr. Michele Champion Sampson, and 7th and 8th Grade Mixed Honor Choir Clinician, Dr. Stefanie Cash. Choir participants will also have the opportunity to work with Berry faculty and students. At the conclusion of the Festival, the students will present a concert of choral works, showcasing the talent of the students. Come join us for a wonderful day of learning and inspirational music.

UNCHANGED VOICES CHOIR SCHEDULE 

  • 9:00 am – Students Arrive
  • 9:00 - 9:25 am – Registration in Ford Dining Hall
  • Teachers pick up materials
  • All 5th and 6th grade unchanged voices choir students stay in Ford Dining Hall
  • 9:25 - 9:30 am – Welcome to Berry Choir Festival
  • 9:30 - 10:45 am – Rehearsal in Ford Dining Hall
  • 10:45 - 11:00 am – Break
  • 11:00 - 12:15 pm – Rehearsal in Ford Dining Hall
  • 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm – Lunch in Ford Dining Hall with chaperones
  • 1:15 - 2:30 pm – Dress Rehearsal in Ford Dining Hall
  • 2:30 - 2:45 pm – Break/change into t-shirts
  • 2:45 - 3:45 pm – Rehearsal in Ford Auditorium
  • 3:45 pm – Move to risers in Ford Dining Hall for performance
  • 4:00 pm – Final Concert

  • All 7th and 8th grade mixed voice choir students move immediately to Ford Auditorium
  • 9:25 - 9:30 am – Welcome to Berry Choir Festival
  • 9:30 - 11:00 am – Rehearsal in Ford Auditorium
  • 11:00 - 11:15 am – Break
  • 11:15 - 12:30 pm – Rehearsal in Ford Auditorium
  • 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm – Lunch in Ford Dining Hall with chaperones
  • 1:30 - 2:45 pm – Rehearsal in Ford Auditorium 
  • 2:45 - 3:00 pm – Break/change into t-shirts
  • 3:00 - 3:50 pm – Dress Rehearsal in Ford Dining Hall
  • 3:50 pm – Move to seats in Ford Dining Hall for performance  
  • 4:00 pm – Final Concert

ELIGIBILITY

Unchanged Voices Choir - Bring your best 5th and 6th grade unchanged voice students, a maximum of 10 students. Parts will be assigned after registration. Additional students may be submitted as alternates and will be assigned, as space permits, after close of registration. 

Mixed Voices Choir - Bring your best 7th and 8th grade students in balanced SATB quartets, a maximum of 12 students. If you have extra students in specific sections after balancing quartets, students may be submitted as alternates and will be assigned, as space permits, after close of registration.

Registration will close on March 2, 2026.

COST

$30.00 per student - Catered lunch + T-shirt. (Complimentary director's breakfast and lunch provided by the choral program. Music is NOT PROVIDED.)

STUDENT DRESS

Comfortable and casual. The performance will be in the choir festival t-shirt and jeans.
