Georgia Tech Dual-Degree Engineering Program Requirements

Additional requirements for the DDE program with Georgia Tech are given below.

1. The student must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher when applying to transfer to Georgia Tech as a DDE student.  The student also must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the required math and lab science courses.  Some engineering fields require 3.3 or higher GPAs.  Note that Georgia Tech does not use plus/minus grading, so all grades should be converted to A, B, C, etc. before computing GPA.  Only required courses that transfer to Georgia Tech should be used in computing GPA.  Transfer equivalencies can be found using Georgia Tech's Online Transfer Equivalency Database.  Mathematics courses below Calculus (MAT 105 or 120) do not transfer.  MAT 111 transfers as a business course, not a math course.  Computer science courses are not considered in the math/science GPA, although they do count toward the overall GPA.
2. Students interested in chemical or environmental engineering should take BIO 111 at Berry.
3. Students interested in chemical engineering may wish to take the organic chemistry sequence (CHM 221 and 222) at Berry.
4. Students interested in industrial and systems engineering should consider taking MAT 219 (Discrete Math) and an additional science elective, to prepare for the Linear and Discrete Math course required for this major at Georgia Tech.
5. Students must apply for transfer admission to Georgia Tech before the application deadline.  The application for Fall admission is available from January 15 until March 1.  The application for Spring admission is available August 1 to October 1.  See Georgia Tech's Transfer Admission page for more details.
