How it Works

Ten students are accepted into the PTM program each year with the following requirements:

  • Completion of Kinesiology 205 – Intro to Professional Tennis Management
  • Minimum tennis playing ability skills
  • Letter of recommendation from a certified tennis professional or high school coach
  • Approval from the PTM program director and the PTM committee

The program curriculum is developed in collaboration with the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), the USPTA and USTA Player Development. The USTA administers the curriculum, and students may progress at their own pace based on their background and established competencies. Three internships are required: one on-site working with the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College and two paid off-site internships coordinated through the center.
While this program is a natural partner for students whose focus is on exercise science or sports administration, the PTM program can be coupled with any major at Berry College.
