TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a college success program that offers individualized support, academic coaching, financial literacy resources, and a supportive community to help eligible Berry students succeed.
About TRIO Programs
At Berry, our TRIO SSS program seeks to be a friendly and easily accessible hub of support for our students to:
- Develop the skills and strategies needed to navigate the Berry campus as members of our academic and residential community.
- Find a sense of belonging among their peers and our staff.
- Progress from one year to the next and graduate on time.
- Accomplish their personal and educational goals.
TRIO SSS programs are federally-funded programs. At Berry, our TRIO SSS programs provide academic tutoring, personal counseling, mentoring, financial guidance and other supports necessary so that students can thrive and complete their post-secondary education.

How does your participation add value to a Berry College education?
TRIO SSS is a support system designed to help you succeed throughout your Berry journey. As a TRIO participant, you’ll have access to personalized resources and opportunities that help you achieve your academic, personal and professional goals.
- Individualized Support: Meet one-on-one with a dedicated TRIO advisor for academic coaching and goal setting that is tailored to your needs.
- Workshops & Events: Participate in exclusive workshops and events covering topics such as study strategies, time management, career exploration, graduate school preparation, and more.
- Financial Literacy: Learn practical money management skills through FAFSA support, budgeting, financial planning, and financial wellness programming.
- Graduate & Professional School Preparation: Prepare for your next step through graduate and professional school advising, application support, graduate school visits, and other career development opportunities.
TRIO Student Support Services is a federally funded program designed to support students who could benefit from additional academic resources and personalized guidance throughout college.
To be eligible for the program, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or otherwise meet federal residency requirements.
- Be enrolled at Berry College.
- Meet at least one of the following criteria:
- First-Generation College Student: Neither parent has earned a bachelor’s degree.
- Income Eligible: Your family’s income qualifies under federal TRIO guidelines. Not sure? Apply anyway—we’ll review your eligibility.
- Student with a Disability: You are registered with Berry College’s Office of Accessibility Resources.
Not sure if you qualify? We still encourage you to apply! Our staff will review your application and determine your eligibility. Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.
