SHORT-TERM International Programs (SIP) Information

One of the best introductions to study abroad for students is through our faculty-led programs. These Short-Term International Programs (SIPs) can be offered in a variety of countries and fulfill gen ed, major/minor or elective credit.

Tenured, tenure-track, or continuing lecturer faculty should download and review the faculty director handbook (see left column) and contact the Director of International Experiences, Chris Borda (ext. 4065), to discuss the program. Faculty will complete a SIP information form (also left column) by September 1.

Faculty are encouraged to apply for a SIP Development Grant to make a site visit to the host country a year prior to offering the course. The grant competition is announced by email each fall, or check the IE faculty webpage periodically.

All faculty who lead Short-Term International Programs are invited to participate in the fall International Opportunities Fair on September 12th and attend a preparation session in the spring.
