DiscoverBerry

Dates for the 2020-21 Academic Year will be available this summer.

Before you register, please read our Discover Berry FAQs:

Q. Who can come to this event?
A. Discover Berry is designed as an introductory event for high school or transfer students who are just beginning their college search. Parents and family members are welcome to attend.

Q. When and how should we register?
A. Registration for fall events will open in the summer, and spring registration begins about 4 weeks before the event. We recommend registering online as soon as you know your availability, as our events frequently fill up in advance. We close registration at least two days before each event to allow for event preparation and setup. Online registration is the best way to ensure that we get complete information to prepare for your Discover Berry visit. If you have any problems with the online form, please give us a call.

Q. I'm planning to bring friends/siblings/family members who are also prospective Berry students. How should they be registered?
A. We prefer that each prospective student register for the event separately. This will allow us to be prepared with a personalized information packet when you arrive for check-in.

Q. Where do we go when we get to campus?
A. Driving directions to Berry are available online. When you arrive, enter Berry through the main entrance on Martha Berry Hwy. As a guest, you may be asked to stop at the Welcome Center. Please watch for signs and be prepared to provide identification if needed. After you pass the Welcome Center, follow the signs for Discover Berry parking.

Q. What will students do at Discover Berry?
A. Discover Berry is a full day of scheduled programming rather than a drop-in open house event. You will attend information sessions on academics, the first-year experience program, admission and financial aid. You will also meet with a panel of current Berry students to ask questions about student life, hear from representatives from our academic programs and campus life areas, eat lunch with us and take a walking tour of our main campus.

Q. What will my parents do?
A. Your parents will get to do everything you do, though students and parents will attend some sessions separately.

Q. Is there a cost to attend Discover Berry?
A. No. You and your family are invited to join us free of charge. Coffee/juice/water will be available at no cost during check-in, and we will provide lunch for our guests in the campus dining hall. Specialty coffee and other snack items will be available for purchase if desired.

Q. I’ve already been to Discover Berry. Will this one be any different?
A. Not really – our Discover Berry programs are pretty standardized. We always welcome return visitors, but if you’re looking for another way to visit campus, you should think about coming for a Daily visit on a weekday (and select Saturdays during the school year).

Q. I’ve already been to Berry for a Daily visit. Should I still come to Discover Berry?
A. Absolutely! Discover Berry offers you the chance to meet a lot of people you may not have met while you were here for your daily visit. It’s a great way to explore our academic programs and campus life areas and interact with a number of current students.

Q. I’ve already applied to Berry and been accepted. Can I still come to Discover Berry?
A. The information presented at Discover Berry is designed for students who are just beginning the college search process. If you have already been accepted, we encourage you to come to one of our events for admitted students, like Decision Berry or Berry Bound. Or think about coming for a personalized Daily visit and choosing from several opportunities available to help you make your college decision. These options will give you more in-depth information that you may need if you are further along in the admission process.

Q. What if I have a question about the event that hasn't been answered here?
A. Please contact Shira Kerce, Campus Visit Coordinator, at skerce@berry.edu or 706.236.5492.
