ADMISSIONS 101: An Insider’s Guide to the College Admissions Process

This online workshop for students beginning their college search includes information sessions on what to look for when you evaluate your college choices, tips on the application process (like essays, interviews and test-optional admission), and information on paying for college. You'll also see what it's like to review applications and make admission decisions in a breakout session led by an admission counselor.

Parents and other guests are welcome to join you!

Q. Who should attend the Admissions 101 workshop at Berry College?
A. Prospective students and parents who are interested in learning more about Berry College and the college application process will benefit greatly from this workshop. The sessions will be geared specifically toward high school students and their parents as they begin the college search process.

Q. What will we learn about during the workshop?
A. We will offer information sessions on what to look for when you evaluate your college choices, tips on the application process (like essays, interviews and test-optional admission), and information on paying for college.  You will get to hear from current Berry students and participate in an interactive session designed to give parents and students insight on how admission decisions are made.

Q. How much does it cost to register for this event?
A. There is no cost for participating in our Admissions 101 workshop! Each prospective student should register for the event separately so that we can provide individual information for you.

Q. I’m planning out high school/dual-enrollment curriculum. Will this workshop help me?
A. We will address the kind of high school courses selective liberal arts colleges like to see from freshman applicants as a preparation for college.

Q. I have specific questions about Berry’s homeschool admission process. Will this workshop address my questions?
A. We will have one session dedicated to answering questions related to homeschool admissions, however we encourage you to review our web page for basic information on ouradmission process for homeschooled students.

Q. I’m a high school student. Do I have to have a parent with me to participate in the workshop?
A. High school students are welcome to participate in this event on their own. We do encourage parents and other guests to participate if they are able!
