We love having our alumni back for events! From Mountain Day on campus to alumni chapter events near you and lots more, find out what events we have coming up near you below.

Save the Date: This year's Mountain Day is October 10, 2020

Held in early October each year, Mountain Day got its start in 1914 as a birthday celebration for Martha Berry. Today, it has grown into a three-day homecoming extravaganza that both showcases and strengthens our bonds as a community.

We are so excited to announce our first-ever Virtual Work Week, happening around the world Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15!

No event reflects Berry's "spirit of service" like Alumni Work Week, and never has Martha Berry's call to serve been more relevant than it is today.

For more than 35 years, loyal alumni have returned to Berry for one week each spring to "give back" through their labor. This year - with on-campus events curtailed due to COVID-

19 - we are continuing this tradition virtually by offering opportunities to serve right where you are. Our communities need us, and you can help us answer the call.

Alumni, students, faculty/staff, parents, and friends - we're all part of the Berry family, and we all have a part to play. Together, we will make this a Work Week like no other, and in doing so live out the Berry motto: "Not to be ministered unto, but to minister."

Sign-up for Virtual Work Week today to support your local community. Join one (or all!) of the virtual work crews, including:

  • Face masks
  • Notes of encouragement and thanks (to the Class of 2020 and alumni working in health care)
  • Blood drive
  • Food drive

Updated April 16, 2020

This is typically the time of year when we are busy preparing for two of the most anticipated events on Berry’s calendar: Alumni Weekend and Alumni Work Week. Unfortunately, we all know this is not a typical year. Like everyone else, we are doing everything we can to ensure the health of our extended community – alumni included – by supporting local, state and national directives meant to curtail the spread of COVID-19.

Unfortunately, this means that neither Alumni Weekend nor Alumni Work Week will take place as planned this year.

While disappointed that we will miss out on seeing you this spring, we are already talking with class reunion chairs about the possibility of rescheduling the reunions that would have taken place during Alumni Weekend. Thank you for your understanding and your patience as we all work together to navigate these challenging times. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call Jennifer Beard, Director of Alumni Engagement, at 706-290-2170

  • Viking-Employer Connections
An opportunity for alumni, local employers, and current Berry students to network, these events are held through the Berry Career Center in various locations around Rome and Atlanta throughout the year.
  • Viking Sports Alliance
During this one-day event, students partner with alumnae to identify the strengths and skills that Berry develops in its athletes, and how those qualities translate into the world of work. Held in January or February.

  • Young Alumni Partner Program (YAPP)
The Young Alumni Partner Program helps seniors get ready for life after Berry as they tackle all the big important questions. Seniors are invited to connect with young alumni who’ve been there and can share their wisdom about life outside the bubble.
  • Young Alumni Christmas Party
Join us as we celebrate the season and support Berry students. Good music, food, and friends. Held in December at the Christopher Browning Pavilion at Oak Hill.

  • Always Berry Week
A celebration of what binds us together as a Berry family. Held in late March/early April.
  • Senior Send-Off
Our celebration of our soon-to-be alumni, with great Berry gear and ways to give back to current and future Berry students. Held in early May.
  • Student Philanthropy Events
The Office of Alumni Relations partners with campus organizations such as KCAB, Athletics and Student Government, to offer ways for Berry students to support their fellow classmates.
