Winter Wonderland

Berry students are busy making preparations for this year's upcoming Christmas festivities.

The holiday merriment began last weekend with Rome’s First Nutcracker in which the Berry College Dance Troupe was part of a collaboration with several local dance studies, including the Baird Ballet and the Rome Civic Ballet. The Rome Little Theatre, local vendors, and chamber musicians united to bring amazing actors, local goods, and live music to the event.

On Tuesday, Dec. 2, the community reunites to sing carols and listen to scripture at the annual Lessons and Carols event at the Berry College Chapel. Students, faculty, and community member will listen to the harmonious sounds of the Berry College Concert Choir and Berry singers.

Santa Claus will visit Berry College following the performance of Rick Lewis’ “A Taffeta Christmas” which opens Dec. 4. All proceeds from ticket purchases will go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Berry College Theatre Company student travel fund.

Berry will wrap up the Christmas celebrations Dec. 5 and 6 with Candles and Carols at Oak Hill and the Martha Berry Museum. Berry and Rome musical groups will perform Christmas carols while guests enjoy another visit from Santa surrounded by the beauty of Oak Hill.
