Sixth Annual Seed Swap

ROME, Ga. – Berry College teams up with The Chieftains Museum to welcome the public to the sixth annual Floyd County Seed Swap Saturday, March 2.

The family-fun day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chieftains Museum includes free admission. The main goal of the seed swap is to inspire and encourage the Rome community to produce and protect heirloom seeds and other plant varieties that are at risk of being lost forever.

Berry College Associate Professor of Anthropology and Environmental Studies Brian Campbell will speak at 11 a.m. on how to properly save seeds.

“We encourage the public to bring open-pollinated or heirloom seeds from vegetables, and/or ornamental plants, in addition to cuttings or bulbs from perennials to share with other gardening or farming enthusiasts,” said Campbell.
