Berry College Lecture: “Addiction and Virtue”

Addiction and virtue are the focus of the first Berry College Lumen Lecture this year.

The lecture, which begins at 7 p.m. Monday (Sept. 28) in the College Chapel, features Kent Dunnington, associate professor of philosophy at Biola University. Dunnington will address what addictions are and present alternative models of change that go beyond simple medication or repentance.

Dunnington teaches virtue ethics and theological ethics at Biola. His experience as a teacher in prisons across the U.S. has inspired his passion for research on addiction and criminal justice.

This event is closed to the public due to COVID-19 protocols. For students, staff and faculty, this event is first come, first serve, with a limit of 50 people. For more information on religious life at Berry , visit
