"The Illusion" Presented by BCTC

The Berry College Theatre Company presents “The Illusion” at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16-17 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 20 at Sisters Theatre.

“The Illusion” captures the magical adventure of a lawyer, facing mortality, who is desperate to find his song that he drove away years before. The father travels into a cave where he encounters visions of his son’s life without his father. Tony Kushner adapted, “The Illusion” from Pierre Corneille’s L’Illusion Comique, into a performance about passion, regret, love, magic, and disillusionment.

During this production, the audience has four seating sections to choose from: Love, Wealth, Power, and Magic. When moments of the play address one of those four themes, watch for the unexpected, depending on which section you chose.

“Taking risks is so important for artists in training, and this play is full of them,” said Peter Friedrich, director of theater. “To get our Berry community fully onboard with heightened its language and poetry, we promise plenty of fun, action, and big surprises.”

Richard Bristow, fight choreographer, and Auryanna Dunlap, stage manager was able to work alongside Friedrich and students for this magical production of “The Illusion.”
