Beautiful Broken Art Show

The 2022 Beautiful Broken Art Show is a student solo exhibition featuring art made by Sarah Esther Merry.

The exhibit will be on display at Berry’s Moon Gallery from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 2-5. A reception and talk will be May 4 at 5 p.m.

The exhibit includes various multi-media pieces made with greenware, and bisqueware terracotta clay, paint, glass, and natural materials like branches, flowers and leaves. Imbedded into Merry’s work are underlying themes of beauty in brokenness and life through death. Throughout the year she has meditated on the human condition and the biblical narrative of Creation, the Fall of Man and ultimately the Redemption of humans’ brokenness.

Based out of Birmingham, Alabama, Merry will graduate this May with a B.A. degree in studio art and religion and philosophy. She also works for Berry’s Outdoor Leadership Development (BOLD) Program, is a part of the WinShape College Program. After graduation she will work with the WinShape College Program at Berry, Earthworks Pottery in Rome, Higher Ground and Sojourn Adventures.
