“Common Threads” in Moon Gallery

The Berry College Moon Gallery presents a new textile-based exhibition “Common Threads” from a pair of collaborative artists.

The “Common Threads” exhibition will be on display 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays through Sept. 14. Admission is free and open to the public.

Artists Amanda Britton and Jennifer Norry explore ideas of migration, ritual, gender, pattern and craft using fragments of various materials. The installation of the exhibit is meant to create a distinctive dialogue between the artists’ work.

Britton’s work has been exhibited across the Southeast, including at the Madison Museum of Fine Art, Lyndon House Arts Center, and the Mint Museum. She is also the assistant professor and head coordinator of the Textile and Surface Design department at Kennesaw State University.

Norry’s work has been exhibited nationally and in Canada. Her art was featured in a solo show at The Goat Farm Arts Center in Atlanta as well as the Georgia Museum of Art and the Marcia Wood Gallery. She is a faculty member at the University of North Georgia where she teaches textiles and weaving.
