Activist and illustrator Urges "Good Work"

Berry College welcomed renowned illustrator Danielle Coke to celebrate Black History Month with students, faculty and staff on Feb. 16.

An entrepreneur, artist, and advocate, Coke creates art that celebrates life and inspires social justice. Since 2020 she has attracted an audience of over half a million Instagram followers and has collaborated with various Fortune 500 companies like Target, Dell, and Meta.

Coke delivered an inspiring presentation about “making a career out of humanity,” a phrase borrowed from a speech by Martin Luther King Jr. She also encouraged Berry students to investigate and learn about black history, as many problems of today can be traced back to social injustices of the past.

“Thank you Berry College for having me as your black history month keynote speaker!! …always love talking about art, Dr. King, and making good work a lifestyle,” Coke posted.
