Cultivating Black Futures Art Exhibition

Prolific Rome muralist Xaivier Ringer is featured in the new "Cultivating Black Futures" exhibit at the Berry College Moon Gallery.

The exhibition is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until Feb. 29. The Curator’s Talk is at 6 p.m. Feb. 21 in Berry’s Intercultural Center.

Ringer and fiber artist Amanda Banks organized the exhibition in collaboration with One Community United of Rome, a community outreach program dedicated to racial harmony.

Ringer, also known as The International Muralist, is a creative director and artist. Her goal is to develop impactful projects that aid community growth and she has worked in Thailand, the Dominican Republic and Guadalupe. She is a founding member of the Rome Mural CoLab and has completed 11 murals in the Rome area. Ringer received her Bachelor of Arts in government with a minor in studio art from Georgetown University.

Banks is a mixed-media fiber artist whose work has been displayed at the Swan Coach House Gallery, Atlanta Contemporary Museum and Slocumb Gallery, amongst others. Her work uses repurposed materials and text to craft commentary about relationships and the natural world.
