Pianist Jihye Chang to perform Feb. 29

Internationally acclaimed pianist Jihye Chang will perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 29 in the Berry College Bell Recital Hall.

An advocate for supporting new music and emerging composers, Chang began her piano project "Continuum 88" in 2016. The project features both new music by living composers, who sometimes lack recognition, as well as her “bucket list” pieces that were composed by the classical greats. She also will focus on piano sonatas by Beethoven, Haydn, Rachmaninoff and Christian Gentry.

A seasoned performer, educator and scholar, Chang has performed as a soloist at Brevard Sinfonia, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Fargo Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, Montgomery Symphony Orchestra and Virtuosi of Festival Internacionale de Musica in Recife (Brazil). Chang currently teaches at Florida State University.
