Berry College recently earned an honorable mention from the National Association of Colleges and Employers for career readiness excellence.
“This national award reflects the work we have done to strategically embed and support career readiness throughout our distinctive LifeWorks (student employment) program,” said Dean of Personal and Professional Development Marc Hunsaker. Alongside a wide range of other campus mentors, this award also reflects the good work of the Center for Personal and Professional Development team.
“Student work has been a core component of Berry College’s educational model since our founding in 1902, and it continues to be the primary way we deliver on our signature promise to provide every student with eight semesters of meaningful work and paid professional development experience.”
Each year, 85% of Berry seniors credit their student work experiences and supervisors with helping them achieve their post-college career goals. More importantly, for the past six consecutive years, 99% of Berry students have achieved a positive career outcome within six months of graduation, demonstrating the college’s commitment to promote career readiness for all students.
“Through LifeWorks, every student can participate in paid, meaningful work that connects learning with leadership and calling. These experiences foster competence and clarity as Berry graduates leave prepared for careers and thoughtful engagement with their communities,” said Berry President Sandeep Mazumder.
