Renowned author and Harvard University professor recently spoke on "The All-Glorious Way of Charity: The Science and Theology of a Flourishing Life" for the Lumen Lecture Series at Berry College.
Associate Director for Research Brendan Case spoke Feb. 23. His research explores the intersection between the humanities and contemporary social sciences. Case received his doctorate in theology at Duke Divinity School and served as a postdoctoral research associate at Baylor University's Institute for Studies of Religion.
Case has written and co-written five books alongside dozens of academic articles. He has also written for the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and other publications. Case’s studies of interest include the ethics of love and anger, marriage, religious communities and education as pathways to flourishing.
The purpose of the Lumen Lecture series is to bring to campus leading academic voices who can help Berry students integrate faith and life. These speakers usually have contributed to their field of knowledge in important ways and are excited to show their findings to undergraduate students.
