A popular mariachi band based in Atlanta recently performed at Berry College for the nationally recognized Spanish honors society.
Over 180 students attended the concert that was organized by Berry’s chapter of Sigma Delta Pi. Before the show took place, those in attendance listened to a presentation by Berry Professor of Spanish Julee Tate.
Mariachi ATL is a passionate and dynamic mariachi ensemble bringing the heart of Mexico to stages across America. With a diverse repertoire that spans classic rancheras, boleros and festive songs, their music connects with audiences of all ages and backgrounds—always leaving audiences smiling, singing and dancing.
“The concert was fun overall,” Sigma Delta Pi Co-President and student Sydney Martinez said. “There is a pretty large Hispanic community on campus, and Mariachi ATL was a great way for students to introduce others to their culture.”
